DRPT 2008 Conference Program

Introduction
We are pleased to announce The Third International Conference on Electric Utility Deregulation and Restructuring and Power Technologies (DRPT2008), which is held every four years, will be hosted by Southeast University on April 6-9, 2008 at the International Conference Center of Nanjing. This event has been approved by The Ministry of Education, China. DRPT Conference will provide an international forum to address policy, infrastructure and workforce issues. Program Committee invites our colleagues from around the world to come to this prosperous event in the ancient city of Nanjing. During the conference, the attendees will have the chance to attend high-level technical sessions and panels. Experts from IEEE, IET,CSEE and many international famous companies will be invited to give keynote speeches, and provide many opportunities for the attendees to discuss with each other. We will organize student awards to encourage students to attend the conference. We also will organize the advanced exhibitions. The conference organiser will arrange technical visits, one-day sightseeing in Nanjing, and the tours outside Nanjing based on the registration number.
Opening Ceremony
We will invite the President of Southeast University, government officers, IEEE, IET and CSEE officers, decision makers from international famous companies to attend the opening ceremony.
Plenary Session
The plenary session will be held immediately after the opening ceremony. A group of notable, highly-respected speakers will address topics of major concern in power system new technologies, new energies and so on from various perspectives.
Student Awards
Three student paper prizes will be awarded. The student must be less than 25 years old and works for a research degree in a full-time study.
Technical Sessions
Researchers are welcome to submit original paper to DRPT.
Technical Panels
We will organize following topics: extra-high-level transmission technology, renewable energy technology and energy saving, DC transmission, power system stability, area digital protection and communication technology, 61850 network technology, etc. We will invite experts to join the discussion on above topics and other new problems in power systems. The experts interesting in organizing panels are welcome to contact us.
Poster Session
The conference will organize poster session to all attendees base on the paper contents, attendance of the authors and the hot topics.
Tutorials
We will invite the academicians insider and/or outside China, IEEE Fellows, and experts to give the courses.
Technical Tours
We will organize a half-day technical visit, and the registration fee will be collected on site. If the number of registered people reaches the minimum number, visits to the famous power companies and enterprises will be arranged. The technical visit is only available to the people with the conference registration.
Booths and Tables
Displays of literature and material about future meetings, and a booth devoted to products and publications will be available near the registration area.
Registration
All attendees are required to register for the DRPT 2008 Conference and pay the appropriate fee in order to participate in the meeting. The link to the registration site will be posted once registration is opened.
Visa
Valid passport and visa are required for foreigners (including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan residents) before entering China. Please complete conference registration at your earliest convenience if you need the official invitation letter to apply for the visa. Exhibition
During the conference several special exhibitions will be organised to reflect the up-to-date technology in China power systems. These exhibitions are only available to the people with the conference registration.
Conference Proceedings
All registrants for the technical program are entitled to one copy of the CD of the conference proceedings. Additional copies of the proceedings will be available for sale during the meeting. All papers in the proceedings are searchable by Ei
Audio-Visual Presentation Needs
Each technical session room will be equipped with an LCD projector and screen. Speakers, who wish to use a computer during their presentation, are required to provide their own laptop computers and are responsible for ensuring compatibility with on-site equipment.
Presenters Preparation Room
The preparation room or session rooms for presenters will be equipped with an LCD projector with the same specifications and compatibility as those in the technical session rooms. The equipment is provided to allow presenters to become familiar with and to ensure that their laptop computers are compatible with on-site equipment. Please check available time.
Message Center
A message center will be set up in the conference registration area.
Attire
Attire for the conference is business casual. No jeans in the sessions, please.
